What is Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy’s goal is to decrease problematic behaviors and increase skill acquisition for improved functional abilities across environments through a play-based approach.
ABA programs can help children:
Target behaviors in everyday tasks
Increase language and communication
Improve attention, social skills and academics
Learn new skills by breaking it down into steps (toothbrushing, toileting, etc)
Community integration (parks, grocery shopping, school)
Decreasing self-injurious behavior, tantrums and elopement (running away).
